Whole Wheat Chocolate Brownies

This has become my favourite recipe. This was my first attempt but I didn’t expect such a good result! I was overjoyed! 😀  The brownies were moist, soft and ofcourse chocolaty. Bookmark this recipe, it is a must try for every chocoholic!!

I enjoyed eating this so much…. it was pure heaven! It tasted even good than the bakery ones! The ones who ate it like it so much that they wanted another piece! 🙂  The best part is that it is made in Microwave as I don’t have an OTG (Oven) yet. I have been baking cakes in Microwave only and even then, they come out great!
But, if you have an Oven and want to try his, it’s not a problem at all! Infact, its even better. You have to follow the same for an oven as well!

Prep Time: 10 min  Cook Time: 35 to 40 min

Serves: 9 to 10

Ingredients:

Whole Wheat Flour (Atta)- 1/2 cup
Powdered Sugar- 1/4 cup
Chocolate Mix or Chocolate with 40% cocoa- 1 cup (melted)  {Recipe of chocolate mix is given below}
Yoghurt (curd)- 2 tbsp
Milk- 1/4 cup
Baking Powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- a generous pinch
Oil- for greasing purpose [I used olive oil]

Chocolate Mix: (Only if you don’t have Dark Chocolate at Home)

Cocoa Powder- 3/4 cup
Powdered Sugar- 1/4 cup
Honey- 2 tbsp
Butter- 1/4 cup
Oil (Vegetable /Olive/ Canola/ Refined)- 2 tbsp
Milk- 1/4 cup
Take a saucepan on low flame, melt the butter and add cocoa powder.Put off the flame instantly. Then stir it  and add milk, honey, oil and sugar. Then stir well. Your glazy mix is ready!!

Method:

  1. Take a bowl, sift in whole wheat flour and then sugar. Then add baking powder and salt.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients very well.
  3. Add the chocolate mix/ melted chocolate with 40% cocoa and fold it little with a spatula.
  4. Then, add curd and milk.
  5. Mix the batter well and see that there are no lumps.
  6. Take a microwave- safe bowl and grease it will little oil and place a baking paper/ butter paper on it and stick it nicely on the side as well.
  7. Pour in the batter and bake it for 35 to 40 minutes at 200 C.
  8. Insert a toothpick in the middle to check whether it is fully baked or not. If it comes out clean, it is baked, else bake it for 5 more minutes.
  9. Your brownie is ready, peel off the baking paper and now cut it into squares. Let the squares cool in the freezer (for fast cooling) for 5 minutes only (not more).
