This is one of the simplest ice cream recipes, it is no churn and doesn’t even require you to whip the cream. This ice cream recipe turns out to be creamy and delicious but a little different in consistency than the regular ice creams.

Ingredients:
- Vanilla custard powder- 2 tbsp
- Milk- 1 cup + 1 tbsp
- Sugar- 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp to 1/2 tbsp (according to your preference- see the notes)
- Fresh cream- 1 tbsp
Method:
- Take the custard powder and add in 1 tbsp of milk. Stir it until the custard powder is completely dissolved and there are no lumps.
- Then, take a pan and add in milk and sugar. Keep stirring the milk and sugar on low flame until the sugar dissolves. After the sugar dissolves, add in the custard powder solution to it.
- Now, let the custard boil on a medium flame while continuously stirring it and making sure that it doesn’t stick to the sides of the pan.
- Once it reaches a certain consistency (watch the video), turn off the flame and add in vanilla extract and fresh cream. Mix it well.
- Now, let the custard batter cool at room temperature and then transfer it to a freezer safe bowl and freeze it for 5 to 6 hours or overnight. After it is frozen, blend it and freeze it again for 4 to 5 hours or overnight.
- After that, it is finally ready to be served!
Notes (Must Read):
- You can skip vanilla extract or add it in lesser quantities since the custard is already vanilla flavoured. I added it because I really like the flavour it adds, but remember it could be a really overpowering flavour for some people.
- While on low flame, stir as much as possible so that sugar melts on low flame itself.
- If you want a consistency more like regular ice creams, add in the fresh cream while blending after your ice cream is frozen for the fist time. It would be of better consistency then.
