This cozy vanilla cinnamon latte sweetened with unfiltered, raw honey is delightful. This honey latte recipe is inspired by a honey bun, it is creamy, sweet, and cinnamony! The whipped honey is so delicious and provides a creamier texture overall.
What is a Latte?
Although the word “latte” means milk in Italian, in the coffee world. It originated from the Italian word “caffè latte” which simply translates to “coffee and milk”.
A latte refers to an espresso-based drink made with milk and a layer of foam on the top where you may find beautiful designs made by the baristas known as “latte art”. It originated from the Italian word “caffè latte” which simply translates to “coffee and milk”.
An iced latte is simply a version of that same drink with an addition of ice sans the foam.
How to make an Iced Honey Cinnamon Latte
To make this iced honey latte recipe, all you need is two shots of espresso, honey, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon, vanilla extract, milk, heavy cream, and ice. You may skip the heavy cream if you like it with just milk or are dairy-free. However, I have perfected my iced latte recipes and they all include the exact proportions of heavy cream and milk. I use whole milk because that’s what tastes the best to me but feel free to use dairy-free alternatives such as oat milk, almond milk, or pistachio milk.
Pistachio milk goes very well with this honey latte recipe because it has a subtle flavor of its own. Some of my subscribers also swear by oat milk for this honey bun latte recipe.
How to make an Iced Honey Oat Milk Latte
As I mentioned earlier, if you choose to use a dairy-free alternative in this recipe all you need to do is skip the heavy cream and whole milk and use 1/2 cup of oat milk instead.
The rest of the steps remain the same regardless of what milk you choose to use.
Alternatives to Espresso Shots
I love using espresso shots in my lattes but I know a lot of people do not have an espresso machine so I recommend using either instant coffee or very strongly brewed coffee.
If you choose to use instant coffee, use 1 tablespoon of instant coffee granules mixed with 1/4 cup of warm water. On the other hand, if you choose to use some strong freshly brewed coffee use 1/2 to 3/4 cup depending on how strong you like it.
This is the instant coffee I used before I bought my espresso machine. Currently, I use the Sputnik coffee beans I use. If you do not own a coffee bean grinder, then I would recommend using Illy Dark Roast. This is the next best option if you do not have access to freshly roasted and ground beans.
I will make a dedicated coffee post soon because as you can see, I like coffee a LOT. I have a lot to recommend and a lot I would ask you to stay the hell away from and save your money!
