Iced Coffee at Home |
Iced coffee recipes are one of the simplest beverage recipes that you can make at home without fail. To make this easy homemade iced coffee you will need minimal ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.
This iced coffee recipe is for those of you who don’t have a lot of time in the morning to do a whole detailed coffee routine and want to prepare a nice cup of iced coffee quickly before work. I used the nescafe instant coffee powder in this recipe, you can use whichever instant coffee you have.
It’s crazy how this size of a drink with all the additions we added would cost you about $6-8 at starbucks because essentially I re-created a homemade iced latte – without the espresso machine because a lot of people including me don’t own one.
Although it’s super cold where I live and it was snowing outside, I still liked my coffee iced. I just cannot seem to drink hot coffees everyday. Anyway, I will get to the recipe without rambling anymore. Let me know what type of coffee do you like the best? cold? hot? or if you have a specific starbucks order?
How to Make Iced Coffee at Home
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp instant coffee powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1.5 – 2 tbsp caramel syrup
- 1 cup milk
- 4 – 5 ice cubes
- whipped cream (optional)
Recipe for homemade iced coffee:
- Take the hot water, add instant coffee powder, sugar, caramel syrup and then mix, mix, mix.
- Add ice cubes to the serving glass, then pour milk followed by the coffee concoction (copycat espresso shot) that we made. Stir everything.
- Top with whipped cream & drizzle some caramel syrup. I used hershey’s caramel syrup for the top. This step is option but definitely elevated the whole look and taste!
Notes:
- You can switch the caramel syrup with any other flavour that you prefer.
- You may switch the amount of sugar if it’s too much for you or add a little more if it’s too less- its a very flexible recipe.
- You can use plant based milk too.
