Chinese Paneer Grilled Sandwich, Easy Paneer Sandwich Recipes

grilled paneer sandwich

Today I made chinese paneer grilled sandwich for breakfast because I had some leftover paneer in the fridge. This paneer sandwich is scrumptious and made me so full that I don’t really have any room for lunch now. It makes a good brunch recipe for a lazy Sunday. I have clicked step by step pictures for this paneer grilled sandwich because it was too easy to be made into a video and moreover, I don’t really like making sandwich recipe videos, I believe they’re too easy anyway.

This Indo-Chinese sandwich takes a little extra effort to make the filling but is totally worth it. You would need to make the filling separately by stir frying paneer cubes, capsicum, onion, garlic in different sauces and mix it with spices. You can serve this grilled sandwich as an appetizer for a party too and if you want to make it a little fancier, you can do that by using footlong bread instead of regular bread.

Ingredients:

  • Paneer- 1/3 cup (cubed)
  • Bread slices- 4
  • Capsicum- 1/4 cup (diced)
  • Onion- 1/4 cup (diced)
  • Carrot- 2 tbsp (diced)
  • Garlic- 2 tsp (chopped)
  • Soya sauce- 1 tsp
  • White vinegar- 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup- 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt- as required
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Oil- 2 tsp + a little for brushing over bread
  • Cheese slices- 2 (Optional)

Instructions to prepare the chinese paneer grilled sandwich:

Take oil in a pan and heat it.

Add in garlic and fry it under it becomes translucent.

Next, add in onions and saute them with the garlic.

Saute the onions until they turn translucent in colour.

After that, add in capsicum and carrot.

Saute them until they become bright in colour and start to become a little fragrant.

Add in soya sauce and vinegar.

Mix them well with the vegetables.

Now, add in salt, pepper and chilli powder and mix well.

Add in tomato ketchup and mix well again.

Finally, add in paneer cubes.

Add a little more salt if needed and mix it well. Be gentle with the paneer so that it doesn’t break.

Take two bread slices. You can chop off the edges if you want to but I didn’t.

Add some chinese paneer filling on one slice.

Then add a cheese slice or grated cheese. This step is optional.

Form a sandwich by adding the second bread slice over it.

Brush some oil over the sandwiches before grilling and then grill them until the top and the bottom becomes golden brown in colour.

After you’ve grilled the sandwiches, they’re ready to be eaten. Slice them as you want and enjoy them with some ketchup or chilli sauce.
