This is a veggie pizza recipe, basically a homemade pizza recipe where I’ve added veggie toppings only. But, you can always customise the toppings according to your liking. You can add bacon, pepperoni or chicken. I’ve tried this recipe a lot of times and it works perfectly each time if you follow all the instructions correctly. I have made pizzas at home with store bought pizza bases too but the softness in this homemade pizza cannot be matched by those.
The olive oil brushed all around the pizza makes the crust so soft and delicious unlike the store bought ones where I always leave the sides of the pizza. You can use some butter to make it even more delicious but I stick to olive oil.
If you’re on the go, then you might like this mug pizza recipe which I posted last year. You might also like this pizza rolls recipe. I will be posting many variations of this pizza recipe, including the one with cheese stuffed in the edges and the infamous cheese burst pizza from dominos.

- Active dry yeast- 1+1/2 tsp
- Water- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp
- Powdered sugar- 1/2 tbsp
- Salt- 3/4 tsp
- Olive oil- 2 tbsp + extra for drizzling & brushing
- Cheese- as required (grated)
- Pizza sauce- 1.5 to 2 tbsp
- 1/2 Chopped capsicum
- 1/2 Chopped onion
- Oregano/ italian seasoning- for sprinkling on the top
Instructions to prepare the homemade veggie pizza:
- Take a bowl, add in water and sugar. Mix it well and warm the water – sugar mixture in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds or until it’s lukewarm. Then, add in yeast and stir well so that everything is dissolved in the water. Keep it aside for 10 minutes or until the yeast foams up.
- In a large bowl, add in flour and salt. Mix well. Make a well in the centre, add in oil. Then add in the yeast mixture. Start stirring to form a dough. Then, knead the dough with your hands until it’s smooth.
- Form a ball out of the dough and keep it in the bowl. Cover the bowl with clingfilm and let it rest for 1 hour 20 minutes or until the dough is double in size.
- After that, take off the cling film and punch the dough in the centre so that all the air escapes. Knead the dough for a few minutes. Dust a clean surface with some flour and transfer the dough onto the surface. Start shaping the dough into a round pizza with your hands. You can also use a rolling pin, but I prefer working with my hands. [Watch the video above to see how to form a pizza from the dough]
- Preheat the oven at 250C.
- Then, take a tray lined with aluminium foil and grease it with some oil. Transfer the pizza to it and shape it further, folding the edges of the pizza and flattening it from the middle to even out the thickness.
- Spread pizza sauce on it, add your toppings, followed by some grated cheese over it. Sprinkle some oregano on the top.
- Brush some olive oil on the edges and drizzle some of it on the top. Bake the pizza at 250C for 20 to 22 minutes or until it’s golden brown on the edges.
- Your pizza is ready to be served! ♥︎ 🍕
