Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! ❤️ I hope you’re having a great one. I made these brownies yesterday and am posting it a few hours before the day ends lol but it’s better late than never and you can always treat yourself with these soft, moist and chocolaty goodness, doesn’t necessarily have to be valentine’s day. Let’s be honest, I ate these all by myself so Valentine’s is just a fancy tag to treat yourself.
These brownies are very moist and the ingredients used are simple and easily available. Can I just say it’s the best brownie recipe in the world! I say this for all brownie recipes but this one truly is the easiest and simplest brownie recipe I’ve come across until now.
I used nutella on the top of these brownies, followed by sprinkling some grated white chocolate and called them nutella brownies but you can use melted chocolate on the top or whipped cream or chocolate ganache, just whatever you’re feeling.
Also, another great thing about this brownie recipe is that it doesn’t require any chocolate, I have made it with cocoa powder. Often times, I am out of dark chocolate so this brownie with cocoa powder is a great alternative to that recipe. I have two more brownie recipes on my blog, one is made using dark chocolate and the other is whole wheat brownie recipe. I also have a nutella mug brownie recipe if you wanna get something quick and tasty. Other than that, I have white chocolate blondies recipe too.
I hope you will try these cocoa brownies recipe and send me pictures if you do! 😄
Ingredients:
- Salted butter- 1/2 cup [If using unsalted butter, add in 1/8 tsp of salt]
- Powdered sugar- 1 cup
- All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
- Eggs- 2, at room temperature
- Vanilla extract- 1 tsp
- Cocoa powder- 1/3 cup, unsweetened
- Baking powder- 1/4 tsp
- Nutella- for decorating
- White chocolate, grated- for decorating
Instructions to prepare nutella- cocoa powder brownies:
- Preheat the oven to 180C and grease a 9″x 9″ pan. Line it with parchment paper and grease the paper too.
- In a bowl, add in butter and melt it. Add in sugar and vanilla extract. Mix it well and add in eggs. Combine those well with the butter-sugar mixture. Then, add in cocoa powder and fold it in gently to avoid it creating a mess. Then, add in flour and baking powder. Mix well.
- Pour the batter in the greased and lined pan and smoothen the top with a spatula or knife. Bake it for 35 to 40 min.
- After it’s baked, let it cool to room temperature and then refrigerate it for 10 minutes. After it’s cooled, take it out of the pan, remove the parchment paper and cut out some heart shaped brownies with a heart shaped stainless steel cookie cutter.
- Spread nutella on each brownie and sprinkle grated white chocolate on the top. Your nutella cocoa brownies are ready to be served!
