This delicious snack is again a microwave recipe but oven users can make it too. This recipe might look complex and time consuming at the first look but all the time that is consumed is in baking and not the actual preparation. It uses no yeast, so that saves on some time. I found this recipe on facebook, on some page. There, they used bacon and cheese as the stuffing. But, I made it a fully vegetarian recipe.
Also, I didn’t use pre made dough and you don’t need to use that either because you can very easily make it on your own with minimal kneading. You can change the filling according to what you top your pizza with. This can be made as a party snack and everyone would love this, because everyone loves pizza. You can add olives, corns, pepperoni and even bacon, if you like that!
So, today I woke to a 1000 likes on my Facebook page which made so happy.
I would thank all of you for 1000 likes on my facebook page- Harshita’s Kitchen
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
- Oil (I used olive oil)- 1 tbsp
- Salt- 1/4 tsp
- Black pepper- 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
- Water- as required
For the Filling:
- Chopped capsicum- 1/2
- Chopped onion- 1/2
- Grated mozzarella cheese- 6 tbsp
- Pizza/ pasta sauce- to spread
- Oregano- 1 tsp
- Chilli flakes- 1 tsp (Optional; I didn’t use)
Method to make the baked pizza rolls:
- Take the 1/2 cup flour and add in all the spices. Then, add 1 tbsp of oil and mix everything a little. It won’t get completely mixed because it is dry but try to incorporate the oil.
- Then, add water in little amounts and mix well to form a dough. I added 4 tbsp of water, one by one.
- If your dough becomes too sticky, add in a tbsp of flour and if it crumbly and dry, add in a tbsp of four.
- After you form a dough, just knead it for a minute and form a ball. Cover it and keep it aside.
- Preheat the microwave at 200ºC.
- Take the dough, roll it into a flat rectangular sheet with a rolling pin. You may not be able to achieve a perfect rectangle; even I didn’t. But, that’s okay because after rolling, the shape would come out fine.
- Once you’ve rolled the dough into a thin about 1/8th of an inch thick, spread pizza sauce all over it, add the chopped vegetables on one end of the sheet.
- Spread mozzarella cheese all over the dough. Roll the sheet gently and stick it with water so that the roll doesn’t open.
- Cut deep slits in the rolls so that once they bake, it is easy to slice. Don’t cut into slices before baking, otherwise they would break off.
- Brush some oil on the top and bake it for 20 to 25 minutes at 200ºC or until they are golden brown.
