Pizza ready in just 5 minutes. Easy to make and no yeast required.
Waffle Pizza
Ingredients
Pizza Base
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
- 3/4 tbsp oil olive oil
- 6 tbsp all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 to 4 tbsp warm water
Toppings
- 3 tbsp marinara sauce or pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese grated
- 1 tbsp black olives sliced
- 2 tbsp red bell pepper julienned
- 2 tbsp onion julienned
- 3 to 4 leaves fresh basil
- 1 tsp oregano or italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F/ 190C.
- Add the milk to a bowl, add lemon juice, whisk and let it sit for 5 minutes at room temperature.
- Then add oil, all purpose flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and warm water. Whisk until it forms a smooth batter.
- Grease a waffle maker. Add the batter to it and cook as per your waffle maker's instructions. However, make sure to take it out when it is just cooked but not fully crispy and brown.
- After all the waffles are made, place them on a greased cookie sheet. Spread marinara sauce on each of the waffles, then add a generous amount of grated mozzarella cheese followed by onions, red peppers and black olives. Sprinkle some oregano and chilli flakes on top.
- Bake at 350F/ 190C for 15 to 17 minutes and broil on high for 1 – 2 minutes.
- Add some freshly chopped basil leaves on top to garnish and your waffle pizza is ready to serve.
Notes
- You may use any toppings you want, you can substitute the vegetables I used for any others you have. Adding chopped grilled chicken or pepperoni is also a great idea for people who like some protein.
- This recipe can also be made in an air fryer. If you do so, change the temperature to 325F or 162C and bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
